Title : Neutrino Physics and Dark Matter search in IBS
In this talk, I would like to introduce very interesting
and challenging particle physics experiments being performed in the
Center for Underground Physics (CUP), IBS. They are NEOS (NEutrino
Oscillation experiment at Short baseline) in Yonggwang, AMORE and
COSINE in Yang Yang underground laboratory.
NEOS is to search for a sterile neutrino at an eV scale using reactor neutrinos.
AMORE is to search for a very fundamental property of neutrinos, i.e.
whether neutrinos are their own anti-particles or not, via
neutrinoless double beta decay using LiMo or CaMo crystals operating
at mili-Kelvin temperature.
COSINE is to directly search for a dark matter contributing to ~25% of
the total energy budget of our universe, using NaI crystal.
If sterile neutrinos, dark matter or the property of neutrinos are
discovered, it would be revolutionary in the history of particle
physics. More details on these cutting edge particle physics
experiments will be introduced and discussed in this talk
